Course objective

The objective of the WMBA The objective of the WMBA Broking Certificate is to ensure that candidates have a good practical understanding of the role of the broker in the financial markets, and the products within the markets. The course is for new entrants to the front office, and for back office staff and others outside the industry who wish to understand more about the wholesale markets.


About the course

The Certificate will give candidates a general overview of the products traded in the wholesale markets. Candidates will gain an understanding of the definition and concept of each product and learn when to buy or sell, and at what price. They will also be trained in the various calculation methodologies. The course may be studied in the classroom or, shortly, using the WMBA's own e-learning product. The examinations

The examination will be taken electronically at one of Thomson Prometric's many test centres around the world. Click here for exam registration details and FAQs. The examination tests knowledge of the areas outlined in the syllabus and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 1 hour 45 minutes. Each question offers four answers and only one will be correct. One mark will be given for each correct answer and there is no negative marking. The pass mark for the exam is 60%. A Merit will be awarded to candidates achieving a mark of 70% and a Distinction for a mark of 80% or more.
